On 11th July 2008, the village hall was presented with a magnificent wall-hanging, the accumulation of hours and hours of work by various people in the community including  school children.  

Measuring 7' x 7' it is made from padded fabric and is decorated with 25 individual 12" fabric squares which have either been embroidered, stitched in some way, or painted, and depict things from Cockwood past and present.

Invitees to the presentation were those who had contributed in some way to the wall-hanging, and those who were regularly involved in the hall and its welfare.  A delicious light finger buffet and a glass of wine was offered, organised by Sally Stoneman and her daughter.
